Why I Would Like to Live in Bali: Exploring the Charms of the Island of the Gods
Although I haven’t lived in Bali yet, my fascination with this tropical island has grown immensely. After visiting as a tourist and reflecting on what the island has to offer, I’m convinced that Bali could be the perfect destination for my lifestyle. Below, I share the most attractive aspects of Bali and some points to consider.
Ideal Climate Year-Round
Bali enjoys a warm and tropical climate throughout the year, thanks to its proximity to the equator. For those of us who love constant warmth, Bali is an excellent choice. The predictability of the weather means simple dressing: shorts and tank tops. Although Bali has a rainy season and a dry season, the rainy season has its own charm and isn’t as inconvenient as in other places.
Scooter Transportation: Freedom and Affordability
In Bali, scooters are the primary mode of transportation. The lack of public transport makes scooters essential and their rental is budget-friendly. The freedom to explore the island by scooter and enjoy the scenery is one of the reasons why Bali appeals to me so much.
Exceptional Cafés and Restaurants
Bali’s dining scene is impressive. From cozy cafés to upscale restaurants, the variety is endless. Indonesian food is delicious, and the ability to enjoy international cuisine in areas like Canggu and Ubud adds another major draw for living in Bali.
Accessible Natural Beauty
Bali’s natural beauty is astounding, with pristine beaches, rice fields, temples, and volcanoes. The opportunity to experience these landscapes in a single day is unique. Additionally, exploring nearby islands like Nusa Penida further reinforces the idea that Bali is an ideal place to live.
Affordable Cost of Living
Bali offers a reasonable cost of living compared to other tropical destinations. From private villas to more budget-friendly accommodations, there’s something for every budget. Food and services such as massages and gyms are also very affordable.
Healthy Lifestyle and Friendly Community
Bali promotes a healthy lifestyle with easy access to fresh fruits and vegetarian options. The Balinese community is known for its hospitality and friendliness. Additionally, the vibrant digital nomad community makes it easy to meet new people and build valuable connections.
Considerations
Like anywhere, there are some less-than-ideal aspects. Traffic in Bali can be congested, especially in popular areas. Additionally, the visa process can be complicated, with limited options for long-term stays.
In summary, Bali seems to have everything I’m looking for in a place to live: perfect weather, natural beauty, a healthy lifestyle, and a welcoming community. If you’re considering moving to Bali or just visiting, I encourage you to keep these factors in mind. The Island of the Gods truly offers something special!
